C-Section Photographs: Birth From A Baby’s Perspective

January 2, 2015

Happy 2015, birth of a new year, birth of new opportunities, a perfect time to talk about birth. Since so many birth photos focus on the mother, I was interested in this set of photos that captures the moment of birth for babies born via c-section, from a baby’s perspective. More needs to be done in this field. In some instances, almost half of our nation’s babies are born by c-section, and there are very few photos of the first moments of a baby’s birth–even the parents can’t see the baby for the shield in place. (God forbid a woman gets to see her own body and/or baby during its birth…) But here are some pictures that are much-needed to fill the void. Take a look.
